Rising Dividends Equity Investment Strategy
Seven years ago we created our Rising Dividends Equity Portfolio to provide clients with the opportunity to benefit over time from a growing stream of dividend income. The portfolio seeks to meet this objective by investing exclusively in dividend paying stocks with a focus on those that are able and committed to consistently increasing their dividend rate.
While the portfolio’s objective is straight forward, we find that its focus on dividends rather than stock prices can be hard to grasp for many people. Blame for this, we believe, goes in large measure to the media and the internet where a constant focus on stock price movements is substituted for meaningful news about the underlying businesses.
