Goelzer believes that investments in developed and emerging foreign capital markets provide an opportunity for potentially superior returns as well as diversification benefits. For clients whose Investor Profile indicates a need for capital appreciation and broad diversification, we may allocate a portion of client investment funds to international equities utilizing select mutual funds and/or exchange-traded funds. Our research and portfolio management team identifies the most attractive international markets and funds, and determines an appropriate weighting for each investment. Investing internationally in this manner allows for diversification both within and across international markets. Goelzer believes that where appropriate, complementing domestic equity portfolios with international investments can enhance overall client portfolio diversification and performance.
